Our President

Dr. Jamesina Evans

Thanks and blessings to you my dear sisters and brothers-in-Christ for the opportunity you have afforded me to serve as your seventh President of the Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, since the merger and to present my first message to this the fourth Executive Board of this new century and a new millennium.

Your president is simply God's conduit through which leadership comes to lead the "new work" in another part of His vineyard; for this, I am grateful. We must never forget the rich heritage and legacy of the Women's Missionary Society's 130 years of winning souls to Christ and bringing hope to the needed. I am blessed to follow trail-blazing women such as Mrs. Mary A. Campbell, who started this journey in 1874, along with former President, Mrs. Delores Kennedy Williams and our Immediate Past President, Dr. Dorothy Adams Peck. Please give them a thunderous round of applause and throw kisses of goodwill and appreciation to them.

The outstanding core of officers, whom you elected, have been setting goals, strategizing, planning and implementing for the causes of mission for the last five months, preparing to do the "new thing" God has commanded them to do for humankind in times like these, in this world today.

We are poised and ready for transformation... and have begun work to create a "new" paradigm of Spiritual Formation, Witness and Christian Service. Jesus is the one to whom we shall listen and follow. His "new thing" will cause us to respond to the call to "Fulfill our Mission propelled by God's Word, God's Will, God's Way". Our WMS goals, objectives and strategies are rooted and grounded in His Word.
